GM encloses IntelliLink for Buick and GMC in 2012

During the last quarter of 2010, Apple sold 16.2 million cell phones iPhone. Market analysts believe the cellphone also that annual sales of mobile computers (aka phones “smart”) will reach 300 million units by the end of 2013! That’s why GM chose to offer the system IntelliLink buyers of 2012 models of the Buick Regal, LaCrosse and Verano, and the GMC Terrain.

IntelliLink is an infotainment system exclusive to GM, which brings a host of software designed for communication devices and wireless entertainment to maximize connectivity.

This system allows you to connect a cell phone or music player like the iPod, the onboard infotainment system, either through Bluetooth connectivity, either through a USB connection. The occupants can then use the functions of these devices, or view content, using an interface with touch controls that appear on a high resolution color screen, 7 or 8 inches.

In addition, this system also allows the activation of a host of functions using a voice recognition mode developed by U.S. Company Nuance. But rest assured, there will also be small “peaks” on the wheel that will enable most of these functions.

Good for all! Even the motorist who has no mobile device can receive the IntelliLink system, since his voice commands will activate the on screen guide OnStar.

The IntelliLink makes use of popular resources, to personalize the listening mode for the radio (traditional or satellite)  as the content aggregator software Stitcher SmartRadio and voice control Gracenote, which tracks sound tracks with as little information that the only name of an artist!

In 2013, the system IntelliLink will be available for all models of the Buick. GMC side, the availability of this system will gradually extend to the entire range.
